In consideration of public health and safety issues, the California Fish and Game Commission created a special order allowing the incidental take of the Western Joshua trees while under review for permanent endangered species protections. The ruling ends on May 9, and the last permit applications will be reviewed and approved tonight at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
