Copper Mountain College has been supported by their Foundation for a number of years. According to Sandy Smith, the executive director, the foundation was established in 1982. Before it was called Copper Mountain College foundation it was called the Friends of CMC. They changed their name in 2001. Smith also said The Foundation itself supports the college by providing all the extra stuff that makes college so exciting, they raise the money to do all of this by holding fundraisers and events where people can donate to the college. Some of these events are their festival of wreaths, and their fall gala.
