THANKSGIVING IN JTNP

Thanksgiving in the National Park – we’ve done it ourselves.  Ranger Pam Tripp says, lots of people do the same…

The Thanksgiving Holiday is upon us, and, the staff at Joshua Tree National Park is expecting a very busy weekend. Campgrounds will fill with campers, climbers, and hikers, and day use visitors will enjoy the mild temperatures during this holiday weekend.  Ranger led programs will be offered to visitors with schedules  available at www.nps.gov/jotr, and in the visitor centers.  Reservations for the Keys Ranch Tour can be made at the Oasis of Mara or Joshua Tree Visitor Centers or by calling 367-5522.  Expect daytime temperatures to run into the low to mid 70’s, but nighttime temps are dropping down into the upper 30’s, so don’t forget to come prepared.  Layer your clothing, carry at least a gallon and a half of water per person per day, and wear a good hat and sunscreen.  On behalf of the Staff of Joshua Tree National Park, from our park families to yours, have and safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
