TELESCOPE CLINIC AT SKY’S THE LIMIT SATURDAY

Would-be, wannabe, and experienced astronomers, dust off your old telescope and join the Sky’s the Limit telescope workshop Saturday. Rebecca Havely says there will be plenty to see in the night sky…

Sky’s The Limit Observatory will host a telescope clinic Saturday, August 4, starting at about 8:30 p.m. Volunteers will set up a variety of kinds, and sizes, of telescopes on the winding sidewalks. Guests are welcome to use them, or may bring their own binoculars and scopes as well. The planets will be the main attractions at the telescope clinic; Jupiter will be due south at sunset and Saturn will be visible all evening. A very bright rust-colored Mars will also be visible after sunset. Sky’s the Limit Observatory is located at 9697 Utah Trail, just north of the Twentynine Palms entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
