A teenager was arrested Saturday in Yucca Valley after he allegedly pulled a knife on an employee at Stater Brothers following an attempted shoplifting. According to a Sheriff’s report, the boy, who was not identified due to his age, went into the old Stater Brothers, on the west end of Yucca Valley, about 2:30 p.m. and allegedly put some salmon and packaged meats under his clothing and attempted to leave the store without paying. An employee tried to stop the teen at the exit, but the boy fled westbound, and the employee pursued him. At that point, the employee told deputies, the boy took a knife out of his pocket and raised it in a threatening way. The employee was able to tackle the boy, take the knife away, and hold the boy until deputies arrived. The boy was arrested on suspicion of strong arm robbery, and transported to Juvenile Hall for booking.
