The Twentynine Palms Library is inviting kids to celebrate Teen Read Week with an ice cream party and candy sushi. Teen Read Week is a national adolescent literacy initiative created by the Young Adult Library Services Association. It began in 1998 and is held annually during the third week of October. Its purpose is to encourage teens to be regular readers and library users. This event is open for teens in grades 7-12, and takes place on Wednesday, October 16, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Twentynine Palms Library. For more information call 760-367-9519.
