JoAnn Ehrke, a 42-year resident of the Morongo Basin, died July 6 after a one-year battle with cancer. She was 68. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ehrke of Pioneertown, and her brother, Charles Arcadia, of New York. JoAnn Ehrke was a teacher for Morongo Unified School District for 21 years. Services will be announced when final arrangements are made.
