SWISS TOURIST VICTIM OF EXTENSIVE DOG BITES IN WONDER VALLEY

A man visiting the United States on a backpacking trip is recovering in the hospital after being attacked by pit bulls in Wonder Valley yesterday (February 15). According to a press release sent out by the San Bernardino County Sheriff, deputies responded to the unincorporated area of Wonder Valley near Amboy Road and Midway Road yesterday shortly before noon for a report of a male victim suffering from a dog bite. The report states that the victim had suffered serious and extensive dog bites to all of his extremities including his face and neck. The victim is a tourist, visiting from Geneva, Switzerland, and was riding a bicycle when he was attacked by three pit bull dogs. Responding deputies reported that they administered life-saving measures to stop the bleeding and stabilized the victim who was ultimately transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. The dogs were collected nearby at a residence and surrendered to San Bernardino County Animal Control.
