The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a suspicious car fire in Twentynine Palms Wednesday. According to County Fire Battalion Chief Scott Tuttle, firefighters were called to the 70800 block of 29 Palms Highway, near the Elks Lodge, about 8:30 p.m. for a car fire. When firefighters arrived, the car was fully involved in flames, but the car’s driver was nowhere to be found.
