The Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in a home invasion and sexual assault in Yucca Valley. On Friday, about 2:15 p.m., a man, identified by a Sheriff’s press release as white, about 22 to 24 years old, with blond hair, knocked on a door in the Country Club neighborhood of Yucca Valley. When the female resident answered the door, the man asked for a person who did not live at the home, and then left. A short time later, another man knocked on the door, and when the woman answered the door, he brandished a knife and forced his way inside the home. The Sheriff’s Department identified him as black, 21 or 22 years old, short and thin with short hair, clean shaven, with an unknown tattoo on his right side. The woman was sexually assaulted by the suspect, who then burglarized the home before leaving. The victim locked the door after him. A few minutes the second suspect returned with another black man, 22 to 24 years old, identified as being short and stocky, and long curly hair. The men demanded to be let back in, and the woman, fearing that the men would burst through the door, let them in. The men demanded money and jewelry from the victim, and then left. Anyone with information about the suspects should call Detective Chad Johnson or Deputy Shaunna Ables at 760-366-4175. The Sheriff’s Department reminds residents to stay vigilant, report suspicious activity, and don’t open doors to unfamiliar people.
