The man accused of robbing a friend at gunpoint in Yucca Valley Sunday instead of paying back a loan as he promised, was arrested Wednesday. About four months ago, the victim loaned $400 to Joey Arredondo, 26, whom he knew from attending the same church. On Sunday, Arredondo said he would repay the loan and asked the victim to meet him in another church parking lot in the 7300 block of Lucerne Vista in Yucca Valley.
When the victim arrived about 7:30 p.m., Arredondo got out of a car with two other men and pointed a gun at him. The men tied the victim to the steering wheel and then stole about $3,000 in tools from the victim’s trunk. Joey Arredondo was arrested Wednesday for investigation of armed robbery, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
