Suspected theft at Yucca Valley bowling alley leads to parking lot scuffle and two arrests

Two transients accused of stealing from bowlers in Yucca Valley were arrested after allegedly starting a fight in the bowling alley parking lot.
On Wednesday (September 10) at around 7:30 p.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said two men stole a cellular phone and a wallet from a table at Yucca Bowl on Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. The Sheriff’s Department identified the suspects as Floyd Anthony Montoya, 43, and Floyd Victor Montoya, 65, both transient. The relationship between the two men was not clear.
The Sheriff’s Department said that after leaving the bowling alley, the Montoyas got into a fight with a third transient in the parking lot. The fight was unrelated to the theft. An employee at the AMPM on the other side of the highway witnessed the fight and called 911.
Responding deputies say that the Montoyas were armed with a golf club and a knife. The victim was injured, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening. The stolen property was recovered and returned to the victim.
Floyd Anthony Montoya was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $40,000 bail. Floyd Victor Montoya was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and grand theft and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $40,000 bail.
