Victim flees to roof during 29 Palms shooting

A shooting in Twentynine Palms saw the victim escape to a rooftop.

At approximately 2 a.m. early Saturday (January 27), deputies from the Sheriff’s Morongo Basin Station responded to multiple reports of a shooting near the 6400 block of Palo Verde Ave.

Witnesses told deputies that several people fired into a house, before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Deputies located the victim, identified as a male resident of Twentynine Palms, on a rooftop near Adobe Road and Gorgonio Drive. He told deputies he was able to escape his residence as unknown subjects shot multiple times into their home. Another victim, also identified as a male resident of Twentynine Palms, was also able to escape to safety.
