A sharp-eyed Sheriff’s deputy caught a suspected Porch Pirate red-handed at a Military Housing complex in Twentynine Palms. Saturday (April 16) At about 4:36 a.m. Deputy L. Gonzalez on proactive patrol observed a man, later identified Andrew Martinez, 38, a resident of Twentynine palms, jump the secured gate on the west end of the Vista Del Sol Apartment complex at 5901 Azetc Avenue. Martinez was found to be in possession of several packages intended for occupants of the apartment complex. Martinez was captured taking the packages on video surveillance with a second unidentified male suspect who remains outstanding. Martinez was found to be on felony probation with an active warrant. Andrew Martinez was booked into the Morongo Basin jail for Conspiracy and Mail Theft. He was held without bail for a probation violation.
