Suspected DUI Driver Flips Car, Blames Deer

A driver suspected of flipping his car in a suspected DUI initially blamed a deer for running out into Pioneertown Road.

Early Sunday morning (October 23), the driver of a Mazda 3 flipped his vehicle in a collision near Pioneertown Road and Deer Trail. The driver, Andre Calderon, 22, initially told Sheriff’s Deputies that a deer ran out into the road, causing the collision. Neither Calderon, nor the two passengers were injured in the collision. Deputies investigated the incident and found no indication that a deer was hit by the vehicle before it was overturned.

Andre Calderon was arrested for suspicion of DUI over .08% and booked into Morongo Jail, where he was released from custody.
