Sheriff’s deputies are searching for two men who shot at a Yucca Valley man who interrupted an attempted burglary Monday afternoon. According to a Sheriff’s report, a neighbor in the 5900 block of Avalon saw two men, described only as a Hispanic man wearing a blue zip-up hoodie, and a black man wearing gray sweats, breaking into a nearby home, and confronted them about 2:40 p.m. The report states the black man fired a .22-caliber handgun toward the witness, but did not hit him, and then fled toward Walmart in a white Scion. The witness started taking photos with his cell phone. Sheriff’s deputies were unable to locate the suspects. Deputies confirmed the residence had been broken into, but it’s not known what—if anything—was stolen.
