The Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect involved in a vicious attack in Twentynine Palms. According to the Sheriff’s Department, the victim, a 57-year-old man, was sleeping in the 6300 block of Morongo Road near Joshua Drive when he was attacked about midnight Wednesday night. The victim described the suspect as a white man in his 20s with a shaved head. The assailant attacked the victim with a board, striking him several times. The victim sustained two broken legs during the attack and was unable to move afterward to flag down help. The victim was not found until about 10 a.m. Thursday morning when he was found by someone walking in the area. The victim was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for treatment of his injuries. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
