SUSPECT SOUGHT IN TWENTYNINE PALMS PIZZA HUT ARMED ROBBERY

Morongo Basin Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an armed robbery of the Twentynine Palms Pizza Hut Saturday evening. About 11 p.m., a man who was wearing a ski mask and a hoodie walked into the restaurant in the 72500 block of 29 Palms Highway. The robber allegedly pointed the gun at an employee behind the register and ordered everyone to get on the floor. The suspect then demanded all the cash from the register be put into a plastic bag, and then he fled the location. Witnesses said the suspect fled northbound across the wash and entered a car, which then drove westbound. No employees or customers were physically hurt during the robbery. The suspect was described as white male about 6 feet tall with a medium build. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
