The Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the man suspected of killing a Joshua Tree man last September. On September 19, a man walking his dog in a wash near Aberdeen Drive east of Sunfair Road found the body of a man later identified as Jesse Stoneburner, 32. The death was deemed suspicious and homicide detectives were called in to investigate. Four days later, detectives arrested Anthony Colegio, 24, of Yucca Valley, on suspicion of murdering Stoneburner and for assault with a deadly weapon. Colegio has been held at the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $1,050,000. He is scheduled to appear in a Joshua Tree courtroom Wednesday and Thursday.
