UPDATES WITH VICTIM IDENTIFIED

The Sheriff’s Department has released more information about a murder in Twentynine Palms Monday. At 12:01 pm, deputies responded to the report of a stabbing at a residence in the Vista del Sol Housing area in the 74400 block of Joe Davis Drive. They located Dominique Clement, 21, of Twentynine Palms suffering from apparent stab wounds. He was taken to a local area hospital and Dominique Clement was declared dead at 2:46 p.m. Deputies located the suspect, William Olivo, 25, a resident of Twentynine Palms, outside of the apartment armed with a knife. Deputies ordered him to drop the knife and he complied but resisted when deputies attempted to handcuff him. Olivo was tased and then taken into custody without further incident. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a laceration believed to have occurred during an altercation with the victim. Once released from the hospital, he was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, then transported to the West Valley Detention Center where he is being held without bail for investigation of murder. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Investigators said the motive remains under investigation and more information will be released when it becomes available.
