Staff at the Yucca Valley Walmart was threatened by an armed robber on Sunday, according to a County Sheriff’s report. Sheriffs said that around 3:45, an unidentified male, dressed as a female, filled a shopping cart with $950 worth of merchandise and began to walk out of the store without paying.
According to Sheriff’s, the suspect threatened to stab Walmart employees if they tried to stop him. Sheriffs say that a witness at the scene attempted to assist employees in recovering the merchandise, and they said that this witness observed the suspect holding a large knife and was threatened as well.
Sheriffs said that the suspect left Walmart on foot with the merchandise in the cart. According to sheriffs, another witness said that her husband followed the suspect into the parking lot in order to recover the stolen items, and that the suspect was headed in the direction of the Home Depot, but the witness lost sight of the suspect in an empty field.
