The Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the suspect arrested for the murder of a Yucca Valley man. Carlos Herrera, 40, of Twentynine Palms, is accused of stabbing a still-unidentified man to death in the 7600 block of Cibola Avenue in Yucca Valley about 7:30 Wednesday morning. The victim’s girlfriend told deputies that Herrera then left in a vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and Herrera a short while later and took him in to custody for questioning. Carlos Herrera was arrested just after midnight at the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s headquarters on suspicion of murder and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail. He is being held without bail. The coroner has not yet released the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
