Suspect arrested in Yucca Valley after “pistol whipping” incident

A man arrested on suspicion of pistol whipping another man in Yucca Valley was found with numerous other firearems says law enforcement.

On Monday (September 18), Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 7100 block of Palm Ave in Yucca Valley. The victim reported suffering from injuries after being “pistol whipped.”

Detectives with the Morongo Basin station identified Leighton Turner, a 42 year-old resident of Yucca Valley, as the suspect and served an arrest warrant at his residence, where they report recovering several firearms at the residence.

Leighton Turner was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail on $100,000 bail.
