Yesterday afternoon, the City of Twentynine Palms closed several roads, including Adobe Road near the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, and Amboy Road. Flood gates were put in place to close these major thoroughfares to car traffic.

As of Monday morning (7/15) Adobe Road remains closed from Raymond Road to Amboy Road.

As of this morning (July 15), all other roads have reopened to regular traffic, but the National Weather Service forecasts the possibility of more thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

If you plan to be driving today, stay vigilant for flooded roads, and plan for alternate routes.

Each monsoon season, a driver in the Morongo Basin gets stuck or stranded on a road because of rapid flood waters.

Don’t be that person this year.
