When county supervisors meet in San Bernardino at 10 a.m. tomorrow the proceedings will be open to the public, as will be the video conferencing center in the County Government Building in Joshua Tree. In all cases, face masks and strict social distancing will be required. Here’s reporter Mike Lipsitz to tell us what’s on the agenda…
Tomorrow, county supervisors are expected to approve the language and placement of the controversial “Initiative to Repeal the Special Tax Associated with Fire Protection Service Zone Five” on the November 3 General Election ballot. The board will also likely approve annual revenue contracts with the Sheriff/Coroner for law enforcement services beginning July 1 with Twentynine Palms for $4.3 million and Yucca Valley for $5.6 million. Then turning to the coronavirus pandemic, supervisors are expected to ratify the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security, or CARES, Act Airport Grant Agreement that will provide a $20,000 grant to Twentynine Palms Airport for revenue recovery due to the pandemic.
While the public may attend in person, everyone is strongly encouraged to attend the meeting via the live video stream.
