At tomorrow’s regular 10 a.m. meeting of county supervisors in San Bernardino, a consent calendar resolution introduced by our own third district county supervisor Dawn Rowe will make official the board of supervisors opposition to the planned release of sexually violent predator Lawtis Rhoden in Twentynine Palms. Rhoden has been confined for many years for convictions for heinous offenses committed in Los Angeles and Orange counties, and similar offenses in Tennessee and Florida. The resolution is part of a community-wide effort to reverse an Orange County Superior Court decision to place the sexually violent predator here. Rhoden has no known ties to our county.
