The Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council, or MAC, serves as a critical link between the county supervisor and the unincorporated communities here. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has this on how you can participate in the process…
The previous Morongo Basin MAC was dissolved, as required by law, when former county supervisor James Ramos left office to serve in the state assembly. Now, newly appointed third district supervisor Dawn Rowe is accepting applications for local volunteer delegates who will serve on Rowe’s newly re-established Municipal Advisory Council. Nine delegates, one from each of the unincorporated communities within Morongo Basin, will sit on the MAC and offer community input to Rowe, something she says is “vital to maintaining our quality of life.” Members of the MAC must be registered voters who reside in unincorporated areas of the Morongo Basin. Access to an application for the MAC may be found at: http://cms.sbcounty.gov/cob/Forms/BCCApplication.aspx.
Applications will be accepted through March 1. For more information, contact Rowe’s Field Representative, Mark Lundquist, at 760.366.1488
