SUPERVISOR GIVES STATE OF THE COUNTY ADDRESS

Following a presentation by Yucca Valley Mayor George Huntington who gave a State of Yucca Valley address on Thursday, Third District County Supervisor James Ramos gave an overview of some county accomplishments.
Managing editor Tami Roleff was there and files this report… Third District County Supervisor James Ramos said the county is listening to residents in the Morongo Basin. “We moved public comment at meetings from the end of the meeting to after the consent agenda. The video conferencing center, so you’re able now to have your voice heard without driving to San Bernardino City.” Ramos said supervisors also approved a $200,000 grant to make Section 6 in Joshua Tree into a park, are working with county agencies and others to bring clean drinking water to Pioneertown. And supervisors also placed a moratorium on development of new solar fields until the county could draft rules to preserve the desert. Ramos reminded residents that the county loaned a fire engine to Morongo Valley Fire Department while its engine was undergoing repairs. Ramos closed his remarks with a description of the supervisors’ job: “Our job is to move the county forward to give you a county that you can be proud of.”
