Summer is the slow season at Joshua Tree National Park, and several campgrounds in the park will close today (June 1). Ryan campground will close at the access road. Partial closures include the east side of Black Rock campground will close (the west side will remain open); the “B” loop of Cottonwood campground (“A” loop will remain open); and the west side of Indian Cove campground (the east side and group campsites will remain open). The campsite reservation service will close for the summer at noon on June 25. The Black Rock Nature Center will also close. The campgrounds will reopen October 1. All other park facilities will remain open.
