Epilepsy affects more than 3 million Americans of all ages, more than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and Parkinson’s disease combined. A national effort to raise awareness of epilepsy will hold a local fundraising walk in Yucca Valley. Managing editor Tami Roleff has more information about the STOMP walk…
The STOMP walk is coming to Yucca Valley September 16. The STOMP walk hopes to raise awareness about the 500 people who are diagnosed with epilepsy every day, and the 50,000 Americans die from seizures every year. Funds raised from the STOMP walk will provide seizure-response dogs and seizure monitors for those in need. The STOMP walk will be held at the Yucca Valley High School from 11 to 3 Sunday, September 16, with check-in beginning at 10 a.m. There will be vendors, seizure-alert dogs, seizure monitors, and information from Pacific Clinics. Register either as an individual or as a team at stompmorongobasin.org.
