Authorities are investigating a stolen vehicle that was set on fire in the Sunfair Heights area of north Joshua Tree Saturday morning. According to County Fire Battalion Chief Mike Snow, firefighters were sent to a remote area near Sonora Road and Copper Moon Lane about 8:40 a.m. for what was initially described as a structure fire. The Sheriff’s Department sent its helicopter, 40King, to help firefighters locate the fire, which was determined to be a vehicle fire. Investigation determined the vehicle had been reported stolen before being set ablaze. Firefighters were on scene for two hours.
