STOLEN SHOPPING CARTS LEAD TO TWO ARRESTS IN YUCCA VALLEY

Two Yucca Valley residents were arrested on Thursday when they were found with multiple shopping carts from a grocery store. At about 9 a.m., a deputy spotted Stacy Stanton, 46, and Shane Willis, also 46, in a vacant lot north of the Vons grocery store. With them were about 10 shopping carts from Vons, valued at $155 each. Stanton had $225,000 in misdemeanor warrants for her arrest; Willis was wanted on $100,000 in misdemeanor arrests. Deputies also located suspected methamphetamine in Willis’ possession. Stacy Stanton was arrested for investigation of possession of stolen property and booked into Morongo Basin Jail with her bail set at $25,000. Shane Willis was cited and released for trespassing and arrested on his warrants, and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail.
