Protection and preservation of the environment is everybody’s business. Ranger Pat Pilcher talks about stewardship in Joshua Tree National Park…
Did you ever wonder how you can improve the way government works? While the federal government can seem like an imposing assortment of different agencies with differing agendas and ideas, the National Park Service is committed to preserving the nation’s finest cultural and natural history sites. At Joshua Tree National Park we take this commitment seriously, but in a world of shrinking budgets and expanding needs, we need your help. Whenever you visit the park, be aware of what’s happening around you. Be a good steward and report any vandalism, theft or other damaging activities to any visitor center or ranger. We encourage visitors to help park staff protect our national treasures. Stewardship can be as easy as picking up a bit of trash or more involved by actively monitoring unwelcome activities. For more information on park stewardship opportunities contact the visitor center at 760 367-5500.
