A recent release from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress shows that San Bernardino county students have been gradually improving their state test scores. The greatest improvement was seen in students in third to fifth grade, who showed an average gain of 3 to 5 percentage points in both English language arts and math. Overall, all San Bernardino County students increased proficiency rates by 2 percentage points in English language arts and 1 percentage point in math. According to County Superintendent Ted Alejandre, the continued progress is encouraging, but there are still educational improvements to be made.
