Staff from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration will be contacting businesses soon in Twentynine Palms to ensure that they are in compliance with state laws, such as possessing a seller’s permit. The staff will also answer questions about how to register with the Department of Tax and Fee Administration, file tax returns, and how to pay the agency’s taxes and fees. Letters notifying businesses of the upcoming visit have already been sent; visits may begin as early as mid-August or may be delayed, depending on the length of time spent with each business.
