State Senator Shannon Grove, who represents the 16th State Senate district, which includes our Morongo Basin, was unanimously elected yesterday as the next California Senate Republican leader. Grove was elected to the California Assembly in 2010 and to the state senate in 2018. She is the first female veteran elected to the California legislature and the third woman to lead the Senate Republican Caucus. She will serve as the Republican leader starting March 1.
