STATE ISSUES A FLEX ALERT STARTING TODAY

A statewide Flex Alert, a request to voluntarily reduce power use by California’s power grid manager (ISO), will go into effect today due to extreme temperatures across much of California and a potential capacity shortfall on the state’s electric grid. The call for residents to voluntarily conserve power across California will be in effect today from 4-9 p.m. Residents are encouraged to pre-cool their homes, use major appliances, close window coverings, and charge devices or electric vehicles before the flex alert goes into effect.
