The California Department of Public Health released a list Friday of all nursing homes in the state that have reported at least one person with COVID-19. County spokesman David Wert told Z107.7 News that as of Monday morning, the Continuing Care Center in Joshua Tree has 18 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and two deaths. The state’s list only reports specific numbers if the skilled nursing facility has 11 or more confirmed cases of COVID-19. According to most recent information released by Tenet Healthcare, which runs the Continuing Care Facility in Joshua Tree, 100 people have been tested at the CCC, and two results still pending.
The county’s COVID-19 website shows that there are 32 confirmed cases in the Morongo Basin: four in Joshua Tree, three in Landers, six in Morongo Valley, eight in Twentynine Palms, and 11 in Yucca Valley. A drive-through testing event will be held at Copper Mountain College on Wednesday, and the positive results will be sure to increase after that.
