The following issues are under consideration for basin plan review and update:

  • beneficial use designation of surface waters and aquifers;
  • salt and nutrient management plan development;
  • policy to address threats to groundwater from septic system wastewater discharges, specifically including Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms;
  • evaluate potential water quality impacts from solar projects;
  • a strategy for dealing with chemicals that currently lack water quality objectives.

Public meetings will be held later in 2015.
