Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center invites stargazers to tour the desert night sky Saturday. This free public event will start around 8 p.m. and lasts about two hours. This week’s constellations will be Leo (The Lion), which is directly overhead, and the Bee Hive Cluster, one of the brightest constellations, only 538 light years away. Other prominent constellations on display will include Virgo (The Virgin), Bootes (The Herdsman), Hydra (The Water snake), and Cancer (The Crab). The Center reminds visitors there are no overnight stays and no camping permitted anywhere on the observatory and nature center property. Sky’s the Limit is located on Utah Trail, just north of the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
