STANDING ROOM ONLY AT SCHOOL DISTRICT SCIENCE FAIR, 11 WINNERS NAMED

Megan Pfau and Lori Anderson, the MUSD Science Fair coordinators, presented the medals and ribbons to the Science Fair contestants on Tuesday, February 24. Eleven students will go on to the next level of competition and enter their projects in the Science and Engineering Fair for the Inland counties of Riverside, Inyo, Mono and San Bernardino to be held on April 6 and 7 in San Bernardino at the National Orange Show facility. They are:
Lauren Guzman, Grade 5, The Power of Magnets;
Griffin Hilderbrand, Grade 5, Agua Caliente;
Sebastian Ventura, Grade 6, What R.F. Values Does Your Candy bar have?
Devon Moore, Grade 6, What R.F. Values Does Your Candy Bar have?
Jaylene Harmon, Grade 6, Soap Wars;
Abigail Hobson, Grade 6, Storage Struggles;
Johnathan Horn, Grade 6, Who am I?
Jaelyn Hannan, Grade 6, Who am I?
Mei Chua, Grade 6, Salt Water vs. Fresh Water;
Emily Stuckey, Grade 6, The McCollough Effect;
Madison Carpenter, Grade 6, Hot Stuff.
Medals were also awarded for class projects. Ms. Cowan’s third grade class from Landers Elementary School won the gold medal. Ms. Buchanon’s sixth grade class from Condor Elementary School won the silver medal, and Mrs. Hilderbrand’s second-third combo class from Joshua Tree Elementary School won bronze.
