The St. Joseph’s Players announce open auditions for two comedies. “Broadway Bound,” by Neil Simon, will begin rehearsing March 28 and will run May 14 through June 5. “The Nerd,” by Larry Shue, will rehearse starting May 17 and perform June 25 through July 17. The St. Joseph’s Players community theater will cast two shows on Sunday, February 21 at 6 p.m. “Broadway Bound” focuses on a Jewish New York family. Two roles are pre-cast: Kate, the mother; and Blanche, her sister. Available roles are: Eugene Jerome, the central character; and his brother Stanley; they should be in their 20s. Grandpa Ben should be in his late 60s or older. Their father Jack should be in his 40s to 60s. They all have New York accents.
For “The Nerd” there are three pre-cast roles: “the nerd” Rick; his best friend Axel; and his girlfriend, Tansy. Available roles are: Willum, an architect in his 30s; Warnock, a stern, hotel owner in his 50s; his nervous wife, Clelia, in her 30s; and their bratty son, Thor, should be 10 to 15.
