Morongo Valley’s Springfest 2013 is April 13 in Covington Park and Big Morongo Canyon Preserve. The annual festival aims to promote a healthy, sustainable Morongo Valley. The festivities kick off at 7 a.m. with a bird walk at the Preserve. At 8 a.m. folks will gather for a big burrito breakfast in Covington Park, then its back to the Preserve for a Flower Walk at 9. Events and activities like kids’ games, music, Mercy Air Helicopter and art exhibits, and a variety of food and other vendors with complimentary items and free information continue until 3 p.m. Spring Festival is sponsored by the Morongo Valley Community Services District; funds raised go to the Firefighter’s Auxiliary which supports the Morongo Valley Fire Station. Springfest is free to all; there’s plenty of parking; this is an alcohol-free event.
