The American Towman Spirit Ride features a colorful, ceremonial casket that is being towed across the nation to raise awareness of Move Over laws. Move Over laws, which are in effect in all 50 states, require drivers to move over one lane to give first responders with flashing emergency lights plenty of room. The ceremonial casket on the Spirit Ride honors first responders who have been killed on the roadside and carries the message: Slow Down, Move Over. The Spirit Ride will arrive in Twentynine Palms Tuesday, August 28. There will be a short ceremony at 2 p.m. in front of City Hall and Veterans Park on Adobe Road. Bailey’s Towing will then town the Spirit Casket to Hesperia.
