SPELL-A-THON FOR ADULT LITERACY THIS SATURDAY

The 28th annual spell-a-thon, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Twentynine Palms for the Morongo Basin Coalition for Adult Literacy, is a spelling bee for adults. Teams—comprised of three people—compete against each other for bragging rights of the best spellers in the Morongo Basin. Participants gather pledges from family and friends that will benefit the Morongo Basin Coalition for Adult Literacy. The event will be held March 16 from 9 to noon at the Helen Gray Education Center on the campus of the Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree. The entry fee for each team is $25.
