A stop for speeding resulted in two men being arrested for possession of a stolen car, drug possession, and misdemeanor warrants totaling $300,000. About 2 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Adrian Gonzalez and Kevin Bush were patrolling Highway 62 east of Joshua Tree when a silver Kia Optima drove by at a high rate of speed. Gonzalez stopped the vehicle near Rotary Way and determined the car had been reported stolen. The driver, Anthony Roque, 25, of Redlands, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000. His passenger, Manuel Diaz, 19, also of Redlands, has three misdemeanor warrants totaling $300,000.
