SPEED LIMIT CHANGE ON HIGHWAY 62 BETWEEN YUCCA VALLEY AND JOSHUA TREE

To anyone traveling along highway 62 between Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree, some new, lower speed limits have been put in place by Caltrans. A representative from the California Highway Patrol told Z107.7 that Caltrans workers placed the new speed limit signs early Friday morning. With the new change, there is no longer a 65 mile per hour zone on this stretch of the highway.

The 55 mile-per-hour zone that begins at the edge of the Home Depot center in Yucca Valley has been extended along the highway to Torres Avenue in Joshua Tree, one block west of the Morongo Oasis Crisis Residential Treatment center.

Additionally, the speed limit is now 45 miles per hour between Torres Avenue and Hallee road in Joshua Tree. Drivers are urged to keep this change in mind when traveling this stretch of road and, as always, to please drive safely.
