SPECIAL RUN PLAY AT THEATRE 29 HIGHLIGHTS CONTRIBUTIONS OF WOMEN

Only two percent of persons named in our high school history books are women, and very little of our national dramatic literature celebrates their contribution. Reporter Dan Stork heralds a limited local run of a play that works at changing that…
On September 26 and 27, at 7 pm, Theatre 29 in Twentynine Palms will host “Shattered Ceilings,” a touring play that spotlights an array of remarkable women. All made significant contributions to our nation through courage, imagination and conviction despite obstacles of inequality. “Shattered Ceilings” was first conceived when California Desert Regional Theater was commissioned to produce a season of plays themed “Pinnacles of American History” by the Rancho Mirage Public Library but discovered a dearth of published plays about the contributions of the nation’s foremothers. “Shattered Ceilings” became an effort to remedy that situation. Tickets are priced at $15 each. Call the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151 for reservations. Contact Justin Blake at 760-328-1483 or [email protected] for additional information. Theatre 29 is located at 73637 Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms.
