Reporter Mike Lipsitz has your invitation …
A 2014
Artist-in-Residence at Joshua Tree National Park, Lauren
Eisenberg Davis has since created a
work of literary art about music over the course of history in this
area. Songs
of Joshua Tree explores
music of the Native Americans who inhabited this area starting in the
1600s, as well as the songs of the homesteaders, miners and cattlemen
of the 1800s and 1900s, and the contemporary music scene of the last
fifty years. Her return here has been eagerly awaited by the Morongo
Basin Historical Society, sponsor of the lecture series. The December
11 presentation begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Hi-Desert
Nature Museum in Yucca Valley Community Center Complex. A book
signing will follow the presentation. A $5 donation is requested.
