SOME HOPE FOR THE END TO THE SAGA OF THE BELEAGUERED TWENTYNINE PALMS FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Twentynine Palms City Council will hold a joint meeting with the Twentynine Palms Water District Monday, December 7, to work out an agreement on the future of the city’s fire department. The council members and the board of directors will attempt to finalize an agreement between the two agencies in which the city will take over the beleaguered fire department. A potential deal has the city buying the fire station on Adobe Road, buying out Chief Jim Thompson’s contract, among other items. The meeting is set for 5 p.m. Monday in City Hall on Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms.
